Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team dropped a Sun Belt Conference home game on Wednesday evening, falling to the North Texas Mean Green, 64-46, at Earl K. Long Gym on the UL campus.

The loss extended Louisiana's current losing streak to eight games.

North Texas led at the half, 26-17, and then outscored Louisiana in the second half, 38-29, to leave with the 18-point win, and a two-game season sweep of the Cajuns.

The Mean Green was able to out-shoot the Cajuns from the field 46%-29%, and also finished with a 40-34 rebound advantage.

Alexis Hyder led the North Texas scoring attack with a game-high 14 points, along with a game-high 16 rebounds, while Ashley Benjamin Louisiana in a losing cause with 10 points, along with eight rebounds

With the win, the Mean Green improved to 8-13 overall, and 7-5 in Sun Belt Conference play, while the Cajuns fell to 7-14 overall, and 1-11 in league play.

Louisiana returns to action on Saturday, when they travel to face the Troy Trojans.
