Conference play has begun in the Sun Belt Conference.

In the first weekend, two teams got sweeps, both on the road.  In the other four series, the road team won three of the four.  The only home team to have a winning weekend was South Alabama.

It's already interesting.

Here are the results.

GEORGIA STATE AT APPALACHIAN STATE:  GSU 2-0, APP 9-3, GSU 17-6

Preseason pitcher of the year Hunter Gaddis lived up to his reputation on Friday night.  Georgia State won game three by the ten run rule (8 innings).  Temps were in the 30's Friday and Saturday.

LOUISIANA AT LITTLE ROCK   LR 1-4, LA 16-10, LA 4-2

Chandler Fidel stymied the Cajuns on Friday, but Louisiana had 29 hits over the final two games of the series.

COASTAL CAROLINA AT ULM  CCU 13-3, 14-2, 15-7

The nationally ranked Chanticleers made an early statement to the league, averaging 14 runs per game in the sweep

ARKANSAS STATE AT TROY  ASU 9-3, 10-6, 10-4

The Red Wolves have one of the best offensive teams they've ever had.  A ninth inning grand slam on Saturday propelled them to the three game sweep against a team that was in an NCAA regional last year.

TEXAS STATE AT SOUTH ALABAMA   USA 10-7, USA 1-0, TXST 8-2

South rallied in the final three innings on Friday and won a pitcher's duel on Saturday.  They were the only team to win a home series.

GEORGIA SOUTHERN AT UTA   UTA 12-5, GS 5-3, GS 15-8

The Eagles seemed to have solved the offensive woes that plagued them at the beginning of the season.  Seth Shuman was treated rudely Friday night, but Georgia Southern bounced back.

THIS WEEKEND:

Troy at Coastal Carolina, Little Rock at Georgia Southern, Appalachian State at Louisiana, ULM at Texas State, South Alabama at Arkansas State, UTA at Georgia State
