The South Alabama Jaguars defeated Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team, 3-1, on Saturday in Boca Raton, Florida, to capture the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Championship Tournament.

Louisiana jumped out to a quick lead, as outfielder Christi Orgeron smashed a solo home run over the right field fence, her 21st of the year, giving them a 1-0 advantage.
The score stayed that way until the bottom of the fifth, when South Alabama shortstop Brittany Fowler crushed a two-out, three-run homer over the right field fence, and giving the Jaguars a 3-1 lead, one they would never relinquish.
Hannah Campbell (23-10), the tournament MVP picked up the win for South Alabama, allowing only fur hits and one run, while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Ashley Brignac (21-3) was the hard-luck loser for UL, allowing no earned runs, while striking out nine batters over six innings.
