After coming within one play of potentially upsetting Nebraska on Saturday, Arkansas State fans were giddy with excitement over the #16 ranked Miami Hurricanes coming to town this week in the Red Wolves' home opener.

Today, they're utterly disappointed.

With Hurricane Irma approaching, Miami decided to cancel the game slated for Centennial Bank Stadium.

The issue was not getting to Jonesboro, it was the question of where to go after the game.  The University issued this statement, courtesy of @ByTimReynolds via twitter.

Hurricane Irma is expected to hit South Florida Sunday morning. The game will not be rescheduled this season.

In addition, the NFL has announced the opener between the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Bucs has been postponed due to the expected landfall of Irma.  The two teams had the same bye week and will now meet in Week 11.
