The seventh-ranked LSU Tigers captured an SEC extra-inning road win on Thursday night, defeating the 10th-ranked Ole MIss Rebels, 4-3, in 13 innings, in Oxford, Mississippi.

The game  marked the first game of a three-game, weekend, SEC series, with the winning giving LSU nine wins in their last ten outings.

Junior first baseman Conner Hale scored on an error, on a ball hit by second baseman Danny Zardon in the top half of the 13th inning, to give LSU the win in extra frames.

Hale collected three hits and scored three runs in the win, and finished the going 3-for-5, including a double.

Parker Bugg (2-1) was the winning pitcher for LSU, with Kirk McCune recording his second save of the year, while Josh Laxer suffered the loss for Ole Miss.

With the victory, LSU improved to 29-9-1, overall, and 9-6-1 in SEC play, while Ole Miss fell to 29-10, overall, and in 9-7 in league play.

The middle game of the series is scheduled for Friday night at 6:30 pm.
