Louisiana Goes Up To Monroe and Gets The Season Sweep
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team knew they were going to be in a fight to try to get their 20th win of the season as they traveled to Monroe to face the Warhawks The Cajuns were able to pull away in the second half as they defeated ULM 80-59 to get to 20-3 overall and 10-0 in conference place.
This is the earliest that Cajuns have gotten to 20 wins in a season in school history. Not only was this their 10th straight victory but it was the 10th straight double digit victory. The game was different in the first half compared to when ULM came down to Lafayette earlier in the season as it was a much closer game.

The 2nd half was a much different story for both teams as the Cajuns were able to outscore the Warhawks 42-26 in the 2nd half. With about 17 minutes remaining in the game, the score was close when Marcus Stroman was called for his 3rd foul and subsequently got a technical foul. The Warhawks made 1 of 2 free throws and then Louisiana went on a 14-0 run to start to pull away.
There were 5 players who scored in double figures for the Cajuns. The leading scorer for the Cajuns was Frank Bartley with 22, followed by Malik Marquetti, Jakeenan Gant, and Bryce Washington. They had 17, 14, and 10 respectively. Washington was 1 rebound shy of a double-double and Gant finished with 6 blocks which is a new career high.
Bob Marlin is now 4 wins shy of his 500th career win and Washington is 6 rebounds short of 1,000 rebounds in his career. The Cajuns will travel to Georgia for their next two games when they face Georgia State and Georgia Southern before returning home.
