Elijah McGuire Earns Elite Invitation Before NFL Draft
The NFL Draft is one of the most monumental moments in a football player's life, and every day leading up to it affects where they get drafted.
Ever since playing his last game for the Ragin' Cajuns, Elijah McGuire's main focus has been to improve his draft stock. He helped himself out immensely by earning Offensive MVP honors at the Shrine Game, catching the attention of draft scouts for tons of NFL teams. Now, he has another chance to impress them at the NFL Draft Combine.
Only the best of the best get invited to the combine, where they have a shot to put their measurables next to the top talent at their position. With McGuire's speed and agility, he has an opportunity to put up some eye-popping numbers that could make his stock skyrocket.
NFL Combine on March 3rd
Clearly, most NFL Draft scouts put the most stock in what players have on game film, but the combine can really help players from "smaller" schools improve their stock. Chris Johnson was a solid back at ECU, but it was his 4.24 40-yard dash time that made him fly up the draft boards. Johnson is in the middle of a nine year career in the league now, and McGuire has the same opportunity Johnson did.

One thing is certain, his entire Ragin' Cajuns family will be watching when he heads to the NFL Combine. Hopefully, it pays off for him on draft day.
