Cajuns Open Hoops Season with Win

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns opened the 2011-12 season with a win last night, beating the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 83-66 in first round action of the Hilltop Challenge at the University of San Francisco.

JC transfer Kadeem Coleby led the Cajuns with 16 points.  He also blocked eight shots.  Vanderbilt transfer Darshawn McClellan added 13 points and Bryant Mbamalu, who scored seven of the first eight points for the Cajuns, added 12.

The Cajuns opened the game on an 8-0 run and never trailed.  Louisiana led 40-27 at halftime.

The Cajuns take on North Dakota State tonight at 10:30 pm.  The Bison upset host San Francisco last night.
