The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team was looking to increase their win streak to 4 games after last night's wild win against Texas State but the Cajuns came up short in tonight's matchup losing 8-4.

The Bobcats scored their 1st run of the game in the top of the 2nd but the Cajuns would tie it up and take the lead in the 3rd inning. The Cajuns would take the lead until the 6th inning when the Bobcats would tie it up, making it the 2nd back and forth game in as many nights. The Cajuns would take the lead right back in the 7th before the Bobcats ran away with it.

Colten Schmidt started tonight's game for the Cajuns and gave the Cajuns a chance to win but like it has happened for most of the year, the Cajuns' bats couldn't get going as the Cajuns were out hit 14-6 in the game.  The Cajuns led the game going into the 8th before Dylan Moore and Evan Guillory gave up 3 runs in the inning. The Bobcats would score two more in the 9th before shutting the Cajuns down and taking game 2 of the series. Coach Robichaux talked about the game after and said, " we let the game get away from us...We gotta keep it closer than that."

The Cajuns (31-20-1/ 15-10-1) and the Bobcats (25-26/ 11-15) will play tomorrow for the rubber game of the series. Prior to tomorrow's game, the players' moms will throw out the first pitches and it will mark the last regular season game played at M.L Tigue Moore Field at Russo Park. The Cajuns will travel to Monroe, Louisiana next weekend to face off against the ULM Warhawks in the final regular season series.
