The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns have enjoyed a big advantage in turnover margin during their season.

Thursday night, the tables were turned...over.

The Ragin' Cajuns (16-5, 9-3) suffered 19 turnovers in Boone, NC Thursday night and fell to Appalachian State 76-59, at the Holmes Convocation Center.

The loss came despite a 27 point performance from Keke Veal, who moved into third place on the Cajuns' all time scoring list.

Appalachian State (7-13, 4-7) used an 11-2 run in the second quarter as the Cajuns went 0-7 during that stretch with a pair of turnovers and the Mountaineers took a 29-19 lead into the locker room.

Veal, who had six points at halftime, scored 14 in the third quarter alone, as the Cajuns' defense forced some turnovers of their own and cut the App lead to 39-37.  But Louisiana built some foul trouble during that quarter as the Mountaineers scored nine of their 16 points from the charity stripe in the period and led 45-39 after three quarters.

Kia Wilridge hit a pair of free throws to get the Cajuns within four points, 45-41 early in the fourth quarter, but the Mountaineers went on a 10-2 run and the Cajuns never got within single digits the rest of the way.

Sophomore Madi Story led the Mountaineers with 23 points, including 9-10 from the free throw line.  Keke Cooper added 13 points for the winners.

App State shot 56.5% in the second half (13-23) and made 23-27 free throws after shooting only four free throws in the first half.  The Cajuns were outrebounded 35-31.

Louisiana will have the weekend off and will face league leading Arkansas State next Thursday night at the Cajundome.
