LSU QB Joe Burrow & K Cole Tracy Named SEC Players Of The Week
Off the heels of their thrilling 22-21 over the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, the LSU Tigers are ranked #6 and two players have been recognized as SEC Players of the Week.
LSU kicker Cole Tracy, a senior transfer from Assumption College, continues to be one of the better stories in college football.
His game-winning, walk-off 42 yard field goal was watched by millions on Saturday, and now, Tracy is the SEC's special teams player of the week.
In the win at Auburn, he was 3-4 on field goals and 1-1 on PATs. For the season, he's 8-9 on FG attempts.
Quarterback Joe Burrow, a graduate transfer from Ohio State, admittedly didn't have his best game, but noted he was being protective of the football and not giving Auburn any opportunities to earn a turnover.
Going 15-34 for 249 yards and a touchdown, along with a game-winning drive that set-up Tracy's field goal, has earned Burrow SEC offensive player of the week honors.
LSU (3-0, 1-0) returns to Tiger Stadium this Saturday as they host Louisiana Tech (2-0). Kickoff is set for 6:00pm.
