The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team was looking to avoid the series sweep against Troy. It was a pitcher's duel early on but the Cajuns got the timely hits in order to win 4-3 over the Trojans. The Cajuns move to 13-15 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

The game kept going back and forth through the first 5 innings with neither team able to get any runs across. The Trojans were able to get the first lead of the game in the bottom of the 5th inning. The Cajuns took the lead right back in the top of the 6th thanks to Handsome Monica's 2-run home run.

The Trojans were able to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th off of an RBI double. The Cajuns and Trojans would trade home runs in the 8th inning with the Cajuns taking the lead and then the Trojans tying it right back.

The Cajuns would get the biggest hit of the day in the top of the 9th when Hayden Cantrelle hit an RBI double to give the Cajuns the 4-3 lead. Gunner Leger made his first appearance in quite some time as he came in to pitch to close out the game. He was able to get the save despite allowing a lead base hit.

The Cajuns will play Southeastern twice this week in a home and home. The Lions will travel to Lafayette Tuesday night and the Cajuns will return the favor Wednesday night. The Cajuns will then return for a home conference series against Arkansas State next weekend.
