Ragin’ Cajun RB Elijah Mitchell Named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun running back Elijah Mitchell ran the ball 17 times for 143 yards and scored three touchdowns in Louisiana's 45-25 win over Ohio.

For his efforts, the Erath native was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week today.

Mitchell is part of a Louisiana backfield that stands out as one of the best in the country.

The Ragin' Cajuns currently set at #1 in the nation in total rushing yards (1,295) and touchdowns (18), while sitting at #2 in the FBS for yards per carry (7.53) and #3 in total rushing yards per contest (323.8).
