Ragin’ Cajun QB Andre Nunez Earns Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week Honors

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun quarterback Andre Nunez is the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The news comes as no surprise after Nunez tied a school record in Saturday's 66-38 win over New Mexico State with 5 touchdown passes.

The senior from Pacoima, California completed 19 of 25 passes for 315 yards.

ESPN’s quarterback ranking system scored Nunez with a 96.8 QBR, third best in FBS among all players who played last week.

He also earned a 247.8 passer efficiency rating, second best in FBS last week.

Nunez was part of a record setting day for Louisiana's offense, as they set a school record with 759 yards.

It's the second straight week a Louisiana Ragin' Cajun has been named the SBC Offensive POW. Elijah Mitchell took home the honor last week after a 191 yard 3 touchdown rushing performance in a win at Texas State.
