LSU (16-9, 7-7 SEC) dealt a blow to the Alabama Crimson Tide (18-9, 10-4 SEC) basketball team's postseason hopes of an NCAA tournament birth by defeating the Tide in a triple overtime thriller on Saturday at the PMAC by the score of 97-94.

With his team down by 10 points with 2:20 left in regulation, Johnny Jones' LSU Tiger basketball team staged a furious rally, scoring 10 unanswered to force overtime against the Alabama.

"First of all, what a great college basketball game. I thought it was an extremely tough, hard-fought battle out there," said Jones. "I thought both teams did a great job in terms of continuing to fight and playing extremely well. We're very fortunate to come out on top and extremely proud of our kids with the effort that they gave.

Fifth-year Senior Charles Carmouche (pictured) scored 20 points in a whopping 54 minutes of play. Sophomore forward Johnny O'Bryant III led the way in the scoring department for the Tigers, scoring 24 points to go with his 10 rebounds and 3 assists.

LSU will remain in Baton Rouge on Wednesday when they host the Arkansas Razorbacks. Tip-off from the PMAC is set for 7:00.
