LSU Sneaks Past Houston, 59-58
The LSU Tiger men's basketball team opened up a two-game road trip by sneaking past the Houston Cougars, 59-58, on Tuesday night, in non-conference action.
LSU was trailing, 58-57, with :04 seconds remaining, when freshman guard Anthony Hickey missed a lay-up.
The offensive rebound went to the Tigers' Storm Warren, who was fouled with :01 left.
Warren proceeded to go to the free throw line and sink two free throws, to give LSU the one-point win.
Houston was able to out-shoot LSU from the field, 44%-34%, but the Tigers out-rebounded the Cougars, 37-32, and also forced 20 UH turnovers.
Andre Stringer led the way for the Tigers, with 13 points, while Ralston Turner added 12.
Alandise Harris paced the Cougars in a losing cause, with a game-high 21 points.
With the victory, LSU improves to 4-3 on the year, while Houston fell to 3-3.
