Elfrid Payton Named LSWA Player of the Week

The honors keep coming in for members of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball team.

For the third consecutive week, a member of the UL basketball team has been named Louisiana player of the week by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association.

Cajuns point guard Elfrid Payton won the honor this week after his Saturday night performance against the University of Houston.  The junior from Gretna had his second 30 point game of the year, tallying 31 points in the Cajuns 79-76 overtime win.

Payton added five rebounds and five assists to go along with his 31 point effort.

He joins teammates Kasey Shepherd and Shawn Long as recipients of the LSWA award.
