Deichmann, Marks Receive LSWA Baseball Honors

LSU's Greg Deichmann and Louisiana's Wyatt Marks were honored by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association today as the state's hitter and pitcher of the week.

Deichmann led LSU to a 3-1 week, going 7-17 at the plate (.412) with a pair of doubles, two homers and six RBI.  He launched a grand slam homer in LSU's 15-2 Thursday victory over Ole Miss and added a solo shot in the Tigers' win on Saturday.  Deichmann now has 12 homers and 43 RBI.

Marks added the state honor to his Sun Belt award this week.  The Cajuns' reliever notched a win and a save in two appearances against Arkansas State over the weekend.  Marks pitched five perfect innings, notching his fourth save in the Cajuns' Thursday win and got the victory in the Cajuns' walk-off win on Saturday.  Marks struck out four in two innings of work Thursday night and then fanned seven of the nine hitters he faced on Saturday.
