Chris Lanaux To Serve As Ragin’ Cajun Football Radio Color Commentator
Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football will have a new voice in the radio booth this season, but no stranger to the program.
Former defensive end Chris Lanaux will serve as the color commentator.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as color analyst for this exciting upcoming season of Ragin’ Cajuns football," says Lanaux. "I may have played my last game in ‘09, but my passion and devotion to the program has remained instilled for a lifetime."
Lanaux was a member of Louisiana's football team from 2005-2009 as a standout defensive end and special teamer.
Revered by his teammates for both his tenacity and leadership, Lanaux was voted a team captain his senior year.
“We’re thrilled to have Chris join Jay Walker as our new color analyst in the booth this upcoming season," notes Brian Bille, GM of Ragin' Cajun Sports Properties with Learfield. "A former captain, Chris is a student of the game who will bring more experience and excitement to our football broadcasts. The buzz surrounding Coach Napier’s program is extremely positive and we expect to have fans tuning in across the state."
Lanaux joins Jay Walker (play by play) and Cody Junot (sideline) on the broadcast team.
"When I met with Chris, I was immediately impressed," says Walker. "He watches the game analytically, which is a vital part of the broadcast. This is something he has always had a desire to do and I can't wait to work with him."
Lanaux replaces Richie Falgout, who served as color analyst the previous 3 seasons. Expecting the birth of his third child in the next two weeks, Falgout made the decision to step away from the role to spend more time with family.
All Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football radio broadcasts will be aired locally on ESPN 1420 KPEL-AM and HOT 107.9 KHXT.
"This community has a longstanding history of supporting Cajuns’ athletics," adds Lanaux. "I’m excited to be apart of your Saturday gameday experience. Geaux Cajuns!”
Louisiana's season kicks off September 1st at Cajun Field versus Grambling at 6pm.
