The Ragin' Cajuns, led by head coach Mark Hudspeth and R+L Carriers Bowl MVP Terrance Broadway have captured their second consecutive NOLA Bowl Championship trophy.

The Superdome was filled with 48,828 fans, with a vast majority from the Louisiana area wearing a sea of red. This shattered last years attendance record for the R+L Carriers bowl, and the fans were treated to an exciting matchup between two evenly matched teams.

After an explosive start by the Cajuns, they led the Pirates 28-7 in the second quarter. Following a pair of touchdown passes from ECU quarterback Shane Carden, the Cajuns scored in the final seconds of the half thanks to a 47 yard field goal from Cajuns kicker Brett Baer.

The third quarter included a comeback by ECU with a touchdown and a field goal to tie the game at 31, and a catch by Javone Lawson in the end zone that was questioned by television announcers but not on the field. After a blocked extra point, the Cajuns headed into the fourth quarter with a 37-31 lead.

ECU drove down the field but weren't able to reach the end zone, instead settling for a 26 yard field goal. With time running down, Brett Baer kicked two field goals, a 25 yard goal with 3:11 on the clock, and after ECU failed to convert on 4th and 5, Terrance Broadway and the offense ran the clock down to :10 before Baer kicked the game sealing final field goal from 39 yards.

Cajuns quarterback Terrance Broadway was crowned the game MVP with a total of 424 yards of offense, including one passing and one rushing touchdown.
