Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball lands 4 players on the preseason All Sun Belt Conference team, and represent the preseason SBC player of the year, the conference announced today.

Louisiana junior centerfielder Aleah Craighton is the preseason SBC player of the year, and an All Sun Belt selection.

Craighton is coming off a 2016 season with career bests in doubles (12), home runs (18), RBI (56), extra base hits (32) and slugging percentage (.851). She was named an All Sun-Belt and NFCA 2nd team All-American for her efforts.

Joining Craighton on the preseason All SBC team is senior 2B Haley Hayden, junior SS DJ Sanders and senior P Alex Stewart.

Hayden sports a career batting average of .360 and is a 3 time All Sun Belt Conference honoree.

Sanders hit 18 homeruns in 2016, earning an invite to the USA Softball Women's National Team Selection Camp for the second straight year.

Stewart is the reigning SBC pitcher of the year, earning 2nd team All-American honors last year with a 29-6 record in the circle.

Louisiana's 2017 campaign begins February 10th at Lamson Park, where the Cajuns are scheduled to play their first 23 games at home.
