Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball will play host to the Weber St. Wildcats on Saturday, in the finals of the Women’s Basketball Invitational.

Tipoff time is scheduled for 5 o’clock at Earl K. Long Gym.

Louisiana, the defending champions in the event, defeated Youngstown St., 69-49, in the semifinals on Wednesday night, improving their WBI all-time record to 7-0.

UL defeated Northwestern St., 69-54, in the opening round, before eliminating Stetson, 56-47, in the quarterfinal round.

The Cajuns, the top-seed in the east region, who defeated Siena, 52-50, in last year's WBI finals, are currently 24-10 on the season, one more win than they accumulated last season, and one win shy of the school record.

Weber St., members of the Big Sky Conference, advanced to the finals with a 79-53 semifinal win over USC Upstate on Wednesday night.

The Wildcats, the 7th-seed in the west region, will bring an overall mark of 23-11 into the match-up.

Weber St. defeated New Mexico, 75-67, in the opening round, before eliminating North Dakota, 76-74, in the quarterfinals.
