The 2012 season came to and end for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team on Friday, after dropping two games to the defending national champion Arizona St. Sun Devils, at Farrington Field, in Tempe, Arizona in an NCAA Super Regional.

After Louisiana won the first game on Thursday night, 6-0, in the best-of-three game series, the Sun Devils, the #3-national seed, defeated the Cajuns in the first game, 9-2, on Friday, before winning the "if necessary" game, 8-0, in six innings.

ASU homered four times in the first game, scoring seven runs in the first three innings, and then coasting to the 9-2 win.

Hillary Bach (21-1) recorded the win for Arizona St., while Ashley Brignac (23-4) suffered the loss for Louisiana.

The second game was little more of the same, as the Sun Devils homered four more time, including four in the first two innings, to win 8-0, in six-inning, mercy-rule fashion, and advance to the Women's College World Series.

Dallas Escobedo (23-6) got the win for Arizona St. in game two, while Jordan Wallace (27-2)suffered the loss for UL.

With the win, Arizona St. improves to 51-9 on the year, and moves on the the Women's College World Series, where they will defend their championship, while a special year comes to a close for Louisiana, who finishes with an overall record of 53-6.
