UL Pitcher Colten Schmidt Earns Spot On All-Region Team

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun pitcher Colten Schmidt has been named to the 2018  American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) / Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region Central 1st Team.

The American Baseball Coaches Association vote on teams from each Region.

Schmidt was an easy choice.

As the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year, Schmidt finished his senior campaign with a 7-0 record and a league-best 2.45 ERA and 90 strikeouts.

He was selected in the 23rd round of the MLB Draft last week by the Colorado Rockies.
