We're at the mid-season mark of the 2011 NFL regular season schedule, so now is a pretty good time to review and see who the best players were in the first half.

At the quarterback position, Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers leads the league in both passer rating and touchdowns, while Drew Brees, of the Saints, leads in passing yards.

At running back, Minnesota's Adrian Peterson leads in both rushing yards, and touchdowns, but LeSean McCoy, of the Eagles, is right behind in both categories.

Receiving-wise, Carolina's Steve Smith has had a bounce-back campaign, to lead the lead in receiving yardage, while Calvin Johnson, of the Lions, leads in touchdown catches.

Defensively, Minnesota's Jared Allen, and DeMarcus Ware, of the Cowboys, both have double-digit sack figures, while Green Bay's Charles Woodson is tied for the league-lead in interceptions.

So, who have been the NFL's best players through the first half of the year?
