Tragedy struck a former New Orleans Saints defensive lineman and his wife, as both were found dead of gunshot wounds in their Minnesota home on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

Dylan Bennett, the 22-year-old son of former football player Barry Bennett, 63, and his wife Carol, is being sought by police after a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Barry Bennett was drafted by New Orleans in the 3rd round of the 1978 NFL Draft out of DIII Concordia College, playing 4 seasons with the Saints, before playing 6 seasons with the Jets and a single season with his home state Vikings.

Per an ESPN News report, Dylan Bennett is on the run.

A criminal complaint says Dylan Bennett's car was at the scene with an empty box for a 9 mm handgun inside, along with ammunition.

Authorities say they traced transactions after the Bennetts' death suggesting Dylan Bennett had flown to Mexico, and a warrant has been issued.

The complaint says Barry Bennett reported in December that Dylan had expressed thoughts while in a mental health facility of killing his parents.

Barry and Carol Bennett had been living in Long Prarie, Minnesota after his playing career, according to the Star Tribune.

Barry worked as a physical education teacher before entering retirement.
