Shin-Soo Choo Will Bring A Variety Of Skills To Texas Rangers

Last week, free agent outfielder Shin-Soo Choo agreed to a seven-year, $130 million contract with the Texas Rangers.

The 31-year old Choo hit a .285 last season for the Cincinnati Reds, while also belting 21 homes runs, while driving in 54 runs, and stealing 20 bases.

With previous stops in Seattle and Cleveland, Choo is a career .289 hitter over nine Major League seasons, with 104 homers, 427 RBI's, and 105 stolen bases.

What Choo brings to the Rangers is versatility, along with the uncanny ability to get on base and score runs.

Choo has hit at least 20 home runs in a season three times in his career, while eclipsing 20 steals four different times.

He has a career on-base percentage of .389, including a .423 mark a season ago, and has scored 80 or more runs in a season four times, including a career-best 107 runs last year.
