Road teams have had a tough time since league play started in the Sun Belt Conference.

But yesterday, three of the six conference games were won by the visitors, as the two Georgia schools and Arkansas State all picked up road wins.  And, there were two conference games that went into overtime.

You know Louisiana lost to Georgia Southern 81-76.  Here are the other results.
GEORGIA STATE 73, ULM 65 (OT)--Jeremy Hollowell and Malik Benlivi combined for 43 points and Georgia State (9-7, 2-2) shut out ULM in the first three and a half minutes of the overtime period to get the win in Monroe.  ULM had a chance to win it in regulation, but Marcus Washington missed a free throw after tying the game at 59.

COASTAL CAROLINA 85, APPALACHIAN STATE 73--Veteran coach Clliff Ellis picked up career win number 800 Saturday as Jaylen Shaw and Elijah Wilson combined for 39 points.  Ellis has won 170 games or more at four different Division I schools, the only coach in history to accomplish that feat.  The win was the fourth straight in league play for the Chanticleers (9-9, 4-1).  Ronshad Shabazz led App State (6-10, 1-4) with 17 points.

TROY 93, UTA 71--Wesley Person hit ten three pointers and scored a career high 39 for the Trojans (10-8, 2-2),who hit 17 total triples for the game.  Jordan Varnado added 24 for Troy.  UTA (12-5, 2-2) played without pre-season player of the year Kevin Hervey, sidelined with a knee injury.  Erick Neal had 22 for the Mavericks.

SOUTH ALABAMA 72, TEXAS STATE 67 (OT)--South Alabama has been playing close games since conference play started and Saturday was no exception as Shaq Calhoun hit six treys and scored 26 points in the Jaguars' (9-8, 2-2).  Ken Williams had sixteen points, including a critical three pointer in overtime.  Nijal Pearson led Texas State (9-7, 2-2) with 14 points.

ARKANSAS STATE 77, LITTLE ROCK 72--Dante Thomas' three point play with three and a half minutes left gave the Red Wolves (12-6, 3-2) the lead for good and Arkansas State allowed the home team just two points the rest of the way in getting the victory.  Devin Carter led the way with 28 points and Devin Simms added 22 in the win.  Marcus Johnson, Jr had 15 off the bench for the Trojans (11-7, 2-3).
