Louisiana Senior Guard Frank Bartley Earns Spot On USBWA All-District Team
Louisiana Ragin' Cajun senior guard Frank Bartley joined former Cajuns Tyren Johnson and Shawn Long as the only UL players in the last 15 years to earn a spot on the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District Team.
Bartley is one of only a dozen players this year who play in Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas to make the USBWA squad.
The Baton Rouge native is no stranger to receiving accolades for his play. He was named first team All-Sun Belt yesterday, was a third team selection last year, as well as the conference newcomer of the year and LSWA newcomer of the year in 2017.
After playing his first two seasons at BYU, Bartley transferred to Louisiana, sitting out a season due to NCAA transfer rules.
In the last two seasons, he's eclipsed 1,000 points, has led the Cajuns in scoring and made three pointers.
Louisiana begins their quest for an NCAA tournament bid this week at the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
As the #1 seed, the Cajuns will play the winner of tomorrow's game between Coastal Carolina and Texas State on Friday morning at 11:30 in New Orleans at Lakefront Arena.
