
Here’s How Sun Belt Baseball Teams Fared Over the Weekend
Many schools wound up playing doubleheaders on Saturday because of impending weather, but almost all games were played over the weekend. The lone exception was Gardner-Webb at App State which was cancelled on Sunday.
Here's how the teams did in the third non-conference weekend.
TEXAS STATE (7-4) took two out of three at the Shriner's Classic in Houston, beating Rice 1-0 and Houston 9-4 before falling to Baylor 5-4.
ULM (5-5) played in a tournament in Pensacola, losing to Tennessee 7-2 before beating WKU 4-3 and North Florida 7-4
GEORGIA STATE (3-8) hosted Samford, losing all three games, 13-2, 8-6. 2-1
COASTAL CAROLINA (10-2) hosted a tournament for the third straight weekend, beating Illinois 11-3. UCONN 10-7 and Indiana 6-5
GEORGIA SOUTHERN (4-6) hosted #9 Georgia, losing 3-1 and 4-2, before winning 10-7
ARKANSAS STATE (7-5) was swept in Ruston by Louisiana Tech 9-4. 5-4 and 8-6
TROY (6-5) hosted Southeastern Louisiana, winning 5-2 and 8-3 before losing 19-4
UTA (8-5) traveled to Incarnate Word, winning 3-2 and 7-3 before losing 6-2
LITTLE ROCK (2-9) traveled to Northwestern State, Losing 1-0, winning 7-5 and losing 7-5
LOUISIANA (3-7) hosted Maryland, losing 4-2, then winning 4-3 (14) and 2-1
APPALACHIAN STATE (3-6) Lost to Gardner-Webb 12-3 and winning 24-3. Game three was cancelled.
