Dead Body Found At Home Of Janoris Jenkins
A dead body was found at the home of a former SEC standout and current NFL player on Tuesday.
Police are investigating the discovery of a body at the home of New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
The prosecutor's office in Bergen County said Tuesday night that they are investigating the death as a homicide.
The victim is believed to be 25-year-old Roosevelt Rene, a music producer and artist, who was staying at the home.
An All-SEC selection in 2010 at Florida, before transferring to North Alabama for his senior season, Jenkins was not at his home when law enforcement officers arrived after the body was discovered in the basement.
TMZ reported that the body was discovered by a worker at the house, and that Jenkins was in Florida.
A second round selection by the then St. Louis Rams in the 2012 NFL Draft, Jenkins signed as a free agent with the Giants prior to the 2016 campaign, in which he was selected to the Pro Bowl.
In 6 NFL seasons, the 29-year old Jenkins has compiled 337 tackles and 16 interceptions.
