D1 Baseball Picks Cajuns to Win the SBC West Division

Nationally respected website d1baseball.com likes the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns to rule the West Division in 2020.

The Cajuns, 28-31 a year ago, are expected to take a step forward under new coach Matt Deggs.  Texas State, who was the regular season champion a year ago, is picked second in the division, followed by UTA, Arkansas State, Little Rock and ULM.

D1 likes defending tournament champion Coastal Carolina in the East, followed by South Alabama, Georgia Southern, Troy, Appalachian State and Georgia State.

While the writers like the Cajuns in the West, D1 does not project the Cajuns to be in an NCAA Regional.  They project Coastal and South Alabama will represent the Sun Belt in the post season.

D1 baseball rates Louisiana SS Hayden Cantrelle as the best pro prospect in the 2020 class, while a newcomer, RHP Connor Angel, is rated sixth.

South Alabama's Ethan Wilson is the preseason Player of the Year, Jaguars RHP Drake Nightengale is the preseason Pitcher of the Year, while Coastal Carolina 3B Eric Brown is the preseason Freshman of the Year.
