Chargers, Eagles Win Playoff Games
The Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs is complete and the Division Round matchups are set for next week.
The trend of road teams winning in the playoffs continued as the AFC #5 seed won on the road as did the #6 seed in the NFC.
CHARGERS 23, RAVENS 17--Michael Badgley kicked five field goals and the Chargers' defense stymied Ravens' quarterback Lamar Jackson for three quarters as Los Angeles took a 23-17 win.
Melvin Gordon scored on a one yard run early in the fourth quarter to give the Chargers a 23-3 lead before the Ravens' rallied late.
Philip Rivers completed 22-32 passes for 150 yards to lead the Chargers through the air. Neither team was able to generate more than 250 yards in offense. Baltimore was stymied by three turnovers.
Los Angeles will travel to New England next week.
EAGLES 16, BEARS 15--Nick Foles threw a two yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate with :56 left, lifting the Eagles to the win.
The Bears drove into field goal range, but Cody Parkey's field goal attempt from 43 yards hit the upright on the game's final play.
Foles completed 25-40 for 266 yards and a pair of scores. He was intercepted twice. Alshon Jeffrey caught six passes for 82 yards to lead the Eagles.
Mitchell Trubisky completed 26-43 for 303 yards in the loss
Philadelphia travels to New Orleans next Sunday.
