Cajuns Turn Attention to Georgia State
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns don't have time to feel sorry for themselves after their first home loss of the season.
The Cajuns (12-5, 2-2 Sun Belt) get right back into action Monday night when they entertain Georgia State in a 7:05 contest in the Cajundome.
The Cajuns fell to Georgia Southern 81-76 Saturday night as Ike Smith scored 28 points,, snapping their nine game home court winning streak which started with a win over the Eagles on senior night last season.
Georgia State (9-7, 2-2) was an overtime winner over ULM Saturday 73-65 as Jeremy Hollowell scored 24 points and Malik Benlevi added five three point baskets.
Hollowell is the only double digit scorer for Ron Hunter's club and is the only player to start every game for the Panthers. Benlevi is second on the team in scoring, averaging 8.9 ppg. Eleven different players have started games for GSU this season as the Panthers have had several players battling injuries.
This is the 13th all time meeting between the two schools with the Panthers leading 7-5.

LOUISIANA 87, GEORGIA STATE 54--JANUARY 16, 2016--Leading just 35-31 at the half, Louisiana shot a blistering 64.3% after halftime while holding the home team to just eight second half field goals. The Cajuns hit eleven three pointers in the game with Kasey Shepherd and Hayward Register combining for nine from the bonusphere. Shawn Long led the way for the Cajuns with 23 points and 18 rebounds, Shepherd scored 19 and Register scored 15 points in just 14 minutes. The Cajuns had 16 assists to just five turnovers in the game and outrebounded the Panthers by 17. Kevin Ware scored 19 points while Hollowell added 15 for Georgia State.
GEORGIA STATE 72, LOUISIANA 69--MARCH 3, 2016--The Panthers got their revenge at the Cajundome as five players scored in double figures in the win. The Cajuns turned the ball over 14 times to just seven for Georgia State. The Panthers led by eight at the half as the Cajuns struggled to score. Louisiana batled back and led by six points with five and a half minutes to play but Georgia State went on a 10-0 run to lead 62-58 with 2:22 to play.and the Panthers never trailed again. Bryce Washington led four Cajuns in double figures with 21 points and ten rebounds.
