Cajuns Place Nine on All-Louisiana Team

The Louisiana Ragn' Cajuns set a record for wins in a season this year with ten.

That historic season yielded nine All-Louisiana selections, including six first team nods on the squad released today by the Louisiana Sports Writers' Association.

Senior offensive linemen Kevin Dotson and Robert Hunt, junior running back Elijah Mitchell, senior linebacker Jacques Boudreaux, senior return specialist Raymond Calais and sophomore punter Rhys Burns all received first team honors, while senior wide receiver JaMarcus Bradley and sophomore defensive lineman Zi'Yon Hill were named to the second team. Junior linebacker Joe Dillon was an honorable mention selection.

Top ranked LSU led the way with 16 selections, including eleven on the first team. Quarterback Joe Burrow was named the Outstanding Offensive Player, while defensive back Derek Stingley, Jr. was tabbed the state's top freshman. Ed Orgeron was named the state's Coach of the Year.

Louisiana Tech defensive back Amik Robertson was the Defensive Player of the Year, while Kevin Moore III, a transfer from Texas Tech and a product of Acadiana High School now at Nicholls State, was named Newcomer of the Year.
