The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are back in Sun Belt action, facing a familiar foe as Louisiana meets Troy in a three game Sun Belt Conference series at Riddle-Pace Field.  The games will air on NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL-FM with pre game shows beginning at 5:30 on Friday, 2;30 on Saturday and 12:30 on Sunday.

The Cajuns lead the all-time series 32-17 and hold a 13-7 edge in games played at Riddle-Pace Field.  Louisiana won the 2015 Sun Belt Tournament at that venue.

The Cajuns are coming off a dramatic 7-6 win over Tulane Tuesday night as freshman Colton Frank belted a walk-off home run on the first pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning.  It was Frank's first collegiate hit. Troy did not play a midweek game this week.  The Trojans defeated Coastal Carolina last Sunday for their first conference win.

Troy has been solid offensively, hitting .277 as a team with a .420 slugging percentage.  Last year's Freshman of the Year, Rigsby Mosely, leads the team with a .392 batting average.  Dalton Singuefield (.342), Sadler Goodwin (.319) and Drew Frederic (.305) are also hitting above .300.

The Cajuns, meanwhile, have a .251 team batting average with a .392 slugging percentage. Shortstop Hayden Cantrelle, the reigning Sun Belt Hitter of the Week, paces the club with a .323 average and a .602 slugging percentage.  Designated hitter Todd Lott is also over the .300 mark at .306.  Cantrelle has hit safely in 13 straight games and has reached base in every game this year.  Lott carries a nine game hitting streak into the weekend.

The Cajuns carry a 4.52 ERA into the weekend, allowing teams to hit at a .255 clip with a 380 slugging percentage and a .359 on base percentage. Troy, meanwhile, has struggled on the mound at times with a 5.63 team ERA, with teams hitting .269 against their staff.  Opponents slug .423 against Trojans' pitching with a .389 on base percentage.
