The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns raced out to a 22-7 lead after the first quarter of their Sun Belt Conference opener against Little Rock.

It turned out too good to be true.

The Trojans took their first lead with just over eight minutes to go in the game and defeated the Cajuns 64-60 Thursday night at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock.

Louisiana (6-4, 0-1 Sun Belt) hit ten of its first 14 shots in the contest in racing out to the big lead.  But the Trojans (7-6, 1-0) cut the lead to single digits, 29-24 at the half.

Sharde' Collins led the winners with 22 points, Kyra Callier had a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Kaitlyn Pratt tallied 15.

Jasmine Thomas led Louisiana with 16 points on 8-13 shooting.  Jaylin Gordon added 14 points while Simone Fields chipped in 12, hitting all six of her field goal attempts.

The Cajuns hit 49.1% of their field goal attempts (27-55) while holding the hosts to 35.8% (19-33).  But the Trojans lived at the free throw line, hitting 24-29 while the Cajuns were just 3-7.

Louisiana will try to split the road trip when they travel to Arkansas State Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm.
