Last year the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns played UL Monroe seven times.

And beat the Warhawks seven times, outscoring ULM 73-22 in the seven games.

The season before, the Cajuns played the Warhawks six times.

And beat the Warhawks six times, outscoring ULM 47-15.

That's 120-37 if you're keeping score at home.

And ULM is looking to settle a few scores this weekend as the Warhawks (25-16, 12-15 Sun Belt) take on the Cajuns (31-20, 15-11).

Games are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at 6pm, with Saturday action beginning at 1pm.

As has been the case most of the season, the teams will take the field with an eye to the skies.  As of Wednesday afternoon, there is a 60% chance of rain on Friday and 80% on Saturday.

The Cajuns are assured of a spot in the Sun Belt Conference tournament beginning next Wednesday at Riddle-Pace Field in Troy, Alabama.  The Warhawks, meanwhile, are fighting to get a spot in the tournament.  Louisiana can finish as high as second and no lower than sixth.  ULM can finish as high as sixth, and, at worst, could not qualify for the tournament.

The Cajuns will start their three freshmen again this weekend with LHP Gunner Leger (5-4, 2.94 ERA) on Thursday, RHP Evan Guillory (3-0, 4.16) on Friday and Wyatt Marks (5-1, 3.27) on Saturday.

ULM, meanwhile, will throw RHP Alex Hermeling (4-6. 4.00) on Thursday andLHP Trey Setzer (6-2, 2.91) on Friday.  The Warhawks are TBA for Sunday.

Both teams have hit the long ball this year.  The Cajuns lead the Sun Belt with 48 home runs, while ULM has hit 33.  The Warhawks lead the league in doubles (107) and triples (15).

Keelin Rasch is having an all-conference season for the Warhawks.  He's second in the league in hitting ).359), first in hits, second in total bases, third in RBI and fourth in slugging.  Shortstop Kodie Tidwell leads the league in doubles (19), but his status is questionable because of an injury suffered in last weekend's series with UALR.

The Cajuns (.422) and Warhawks (.410) are at the top of the league in slugging percentage.

All games will be broadcast this weekend, with Thursday's game on ESPN1420.  Friday and Saturday's games are scheduled to be on News/Talk 96.5 KPEL-FM.  Games will be streamed on espn1420.com, or kpel965.com.  The games are also available on radioPup, a free app for smart phones.
