The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team has struggled to come from behind this season.

But on Saturday, the Cajuns were up to the task.

The Cajuns spotted South Alabama an early four run lead, but roared back to take an 8-4 victory Saturday afternoon at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

Kole McKinnon drove in four runs and Hunter Kasuls gave the Cajuns the lead for good with a two run single in the fourth as the Cajuns evened the series with the Jaguars.

Brandon Young overcame a tough second inning to get his second straight win.  The junior college transfer allowed just four hits and three earned runs over 5.0 innings.  He walked six (two intentional) and struck out nine.  Caleb Armstrong and Gunner Leger scattered four hits over the final four innings to keep the Jaguars at bay.

South Alabama (15-19, 5-9 Sun Belt) took advantage of Young's only bad inning as two hits and a hit batsman loaded the bases with one out.  Dakota Dailey then hit a hard grounder just inside the first base bag and a bobble in right field enabled the Jags to clear the bases.  Michael Sandle's base hit scored the fourth run of the inning.

McKinnon's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second got the Cajuns (19-21, 7-7) on the board in the bottom of the inning and the Cajuns batted around in the fourth to take the lead.  A walk and hit batsman put two on with one out and Orynn Veillon's second bunt single of the game loaded the bases.  McKinnon and Breaux were both hit by pitches to force home two runs and Veillon scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at four.  Hayden Cantrelle walked to load the bases with two out and Kasuls hit a shot down the right field line to give the Cajuns a 6-4 lead.

One inning later the Cajuns put the game away when Handsome Monica was hit by a pitch and Tremaine Spears singled.  Veillon's sacrifice bunt put the runners in scoring position and McKinnon delivered both runners with a sharp single to left for the final margin.

Jags' starter Caleb Yarborough (2-5) was charged with the loss, giving up four hits and six runs, five earned.  He walked one, struck out one and hit three batters.

Spears and Veillon led a ten hit Cajun attack with two hits apiece.  Dailey and Wells Davis each had a pair of hits for the Jaguars, who stranded twelve base runners in the contest.

The third and final game of the series will be played Sunday at 1:00 pm at Russo Park.
