Louisiana Ragin' Cajun women's basketball coach Garry Brodhead has been named the LSWA Coach of the Year, while two of his players earn a spot on the All-LSWA team, as announced yesterday by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

For Brodhead, it's the first time in his career he's earned LSWA Coach of the Year honors.

Two of his seniors from the 25 win team were recognized as well.

Keke Veal and Kia Wilridge were both named to the All-LSWA women's basketball team for the second time.

Veal played in all 35 games for Louisiana, leading the team in points (17.7 ppg), steal (87) and assists (89).

Wilridge started all 35 contests, leading the team in rebounds (5.4 rpg), while averaging 11.8 points a game on a career best 42.8% shooting from the field.

Brodhead led Louisiana to a 25-10 record, tying the 2006-07 club for the most wins in school history. The Cajuns won the WBI (women's basketball invitational) for the second consecutive season.
