At SEC media days last month, Arkansas' Bobby Petrino said he felt his Arkansas Razorbacks were ready to contend for an SEC championship.

That goal took a big hit this week.

Running back Knile Davis, who led the conference in rushing with 1,322 yards, is likely out for the year after suffering a left ankle injury early in a Thursday scrimmage.

Juniors Dennis Johnson and Ronnie Wingo will now be called upon to handle Davis' duties.

Davis was carted off the field after the injury, unable to put any weight on his left leg.   He was a pre-season all-SEC second team selection.
