Of course, there are a number of schools, including Air Force, Appalachian St., Arizona, Army, Baylor, Boise St., Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Florida, Central Michigan, East Carolina, FAU, FIU, Hawaii, ULM, Miami (Ohio), Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Navy, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico St., Ohio, Rice, Rutgers, San Jose St., South Alabama, South Florida, Southern Miss, TCU, and Temple, in which the Saints have never drafted a player.

Today, we spotlight the best player the Saints ever drafted from Texas A&M.

Our pick is going to be Ed Hargett, a quarterback, who played 4 seasons for the Saints, from 1969-1973.

Wait!...WHO?!?!?

Ed Hargett.

And there's a good reason Hargett is the pick; it's because he's actually the only player that the Saints ever drafted out of Texas A&M.

That's pretty surprising, considering the success that Texas A&M has had through the years, and the number of NFL players that went to school there, but Hargett is indeed the only one.

The Saints selected Hargett in the 16th round of the 1969 NFL Draft.

Actually, Hargett wasn't a bad back-up quarterback, completing 31-of-52 passes for 403 yards in his rookie season, before 1,133 yards, to go along with 5 touchdowns and 5 interceptions in 1970.

In 1971, Hargett threw for a career-high 1,191 yards, to go along with a career-high 6 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

Hargett would never attempt another NFL pass however, appearing only as the Saints' holder in 1972, before ending his career with the Houston Oilers in 1973.

In 4 seasons with the Saints, Hargett completed 205-of-437 passes for 2,727 yards, to go along with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
