Three Ragin' Cajun baseball players were named to the 2011 Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana College Baseball Team as selected by a panel of LSWA members. Senior Cajun outfielder Mike Petello was selected to the first-team, while Junior RHP Jordan Nicholson was a second-teamer. Senior shortstop Greg Fontenot was honorable mention. Here is more from ragincajuns.com.

The Cajuns had a pitcher named All-Louisiana for the eighth straight season. UL received multiple selections for the second straight season and 11th time in the Robichaux Era.

Petello is the first position player to collect first team All-Louisiana honors since former standout and current Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy did so in 2007.
After getting snubbed by the Sun Belt for All-Conference, it's good to see Petello get honored by the LSWA. He hit .338 in SBC play, but the coaches apparently felt that wasn't good enough.
It's not a surprise to see Nicholson receive second-team honors. He was fantastic down the stretch for the Cajuns.
Greg Fontenot has been overlooked his entire collegiate career. While he probably deserved more than honorable mention, it's about time he received some recognition outside of his own clubhouse.
