Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team opens play in the Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Tournament on Friday, by taking on the North Texas Mean Green, in opening round action in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Louisiana, who is the #11-seed, is 9-20 overall, and 3-17 in Sun Belt Conference play, while North Texas finished the regular season at 11-18 overall, and 10-10 in league play.

The Mean Green defeated the Cajuns twice this season, winning y scores of 71-59, back on December 1 in Denton, Texas, and 64-46, on January 30 at the Cajundome.

Louisiana is led by freshman guard Keke Veal, who is averaging 12.6 points-per-game, while North Texas is paced by freshman forward Alexis Hyder, who is averaging 13.8 points a contest.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 2:30 pm, with the winner advancing to play third-seeded WKU on Saturday at 2 o'clock.
