UL Softball Adds Two Former Cajuns To Staff
Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team have added two members to their coaching staff, the University announced today.
Former Ragin' Cajun assistant coach Chris Malveaux and former catcher Lana Bowers (also a former assistant coach at UL) joins the 2016 staff. Malveaux will be associate head coach. Bowers will be assistant coach.
Malveaux comes back to UL after spending the last 4 years at Bradley. He was part of Michael and Stefni Loteif's staff from 2009-2011.
Bowers played catcher for Louisiana from 2007-2010 and as an assistant coach from 2013-2014.
"The support of our administration, particularly Dr. (Joseph) Savoie, Scott Farmer and Dr. Jessica Leger, our past and present players, my family, our fans and this community has been phenomenal in the overall success of this program," Louisiana head coach Mike Lotief said in a University press release. "I firmly believe that bringing back Chris and Lana, who are products of this system, will accomplish our objectives of competing for championships."
Louisiana is coming off a 42-12 campaign and a trip to the NCAA Super Regionals.
