Hunter McMahon pitched a complete game and struck out eleven as Texas State defeated the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns 3-2 Saturday at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

"Their kid threw a really good game and kept his pitch count low," head coach Tony Robichaux said.  "Jack (Burk) did a great job and AP (Austin Perrin) came in great behind him.  We give up a run on a balk and botch a safety squeeze.  If we get that done we might be on the right side of 3-2."

McMahon allowed the Cajuns seven hits, but only one after the fourth inning. He did not walk a batter and struck out eleven in his 111 pitch performance.

Texas State got on the board in the second against  Burk.  John Wuthrich singled to lead off the inning and Travon Benton followed with a bunt single.  A base hit by Dalton Shuffield scored Wuthrich and sent Benton to third, where he scored on a single by Ryan Newman.

But the Cajuns got a pair of their own in the bottom of the inning.  Hunter Kasuls got things started with a single and scored when Orynn Veillon laced a triple to right center.  Handsome Monica then ripped a single to left field to tie the game.

Texas State untied the game in the fourth when Wuthrich led off with a double down the line in left, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a balk.

Burk went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.  He walked only one and struck out two.  Perrin threw the final three innings, allowing just one hit and one walk.

The final game of the series will be at 1:00 Sunday afternoon.
