Pelicans Deal Dante Cunningham to Brooklyn for Rashad Vaughn
The New Orleans Pelicans got a little bit younger on Thursday just about an hour before the NBA Trade Deadline was set to expire the Pelicans made a move, a small one.
The team traded away veteran forward Dante Cunningham to the Brooklyn Nets for 2015 1st round draft pick by the Milwaukee Bucks, Rashad Vaughn and recently traded to the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets have immediately flipped him to the Pelicans for the 30 year old Cunningham to fill a need at the forward position for Brooklyn.
Cunningham's minutes were in danger with the addition of Nikola Mirotic who plays the same position and is a better offensive player.
Vaughn on the other hand is a youngster, just 21 years old. He was the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft after one season at UNLV. Vaughn has good size for a guard at 6'6" and has averaged 3.1 points per game in his NBA career as he's split time between the league and the G-League.
