The first round of the 2016 NFL Draft will be held on Thursday, April 28, in Chicago, Illinois.

Between now and then, we’ll be looking back at all of the drafts of the New Orleans Saints, from 1967-2015.

Yesterday, we looked back at 1981.

Today: 1982

The 1982 draft was the 16th draft in the history of the Saints.

The pick: Lindsay Scott, a receiver from Georgia.

This one didn't turn out well for the Saints.

Scott was selected with the 13th-overall pick in the first round of the 1982 NFL Draft by the Saints.

A native of Jesup, Georgia, Scott played four years for the Saints, from 1982-1985.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Scott played in 8 games during the strike-shortened 1982, starting 7, compiling 17 catches for 251 yards, before 24 receptions for 274 yards in his second season in the league.

In 1984, Scott caught 21 balls for 278 yards, along with his first, and only, touchdown reception of his career.

In 1985, his final season with the Saints, and in the NFL, Scott had 7 catches for 61 yards.

In a disappointing 4-year stint with the Saints, Scott accumulated 69 receptions for 864 yards and one touchdown in 49 games, including 22 starts.

The Saints did do quite well in the later rounds in 1982, taking Missouri guard Brad Edelman in the second round, Kansas St. receiver Eugene Goodlow in the third round, and North Texas defensive tackle Tony Elliott in the fifth round.

Without a doubt however, the best pick the Saints made in 1982 was the selection of Michigan St. placekicker Morten Andersen in the fourth round.

Andersen, the all-time leading scorer in NFL history, spent 13 successful years with the Saints.
