Hunter Kasuls and Todd Lott combined for seven hits and five RBI as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns clinched a series win over defending Sun Belt champion Coastal Carolina 9-7 Saturday afternoon at Springs Brooks Stadium in Conway, SC.

Kasuls had four hits, scored three times and drove in a crucial ninth inning run, while Lott scored twice and drove in four runs in leading the Cajuns' 13-hit attack.

Jacob Schultz (2-2) allowed just two runs in five innings of relief to get the win, while Grant Cox got the last four outs for his first save of the season.

Louisiana (22-27, 10-13 Sun Belt) got on the board in the third inning as Hayden Cantrelle and Kasuls singled in front of Lott's three run homer to left field, his sixth of the season, giving the Cajuns a 3-0 lead.

Coastal Carolina (26-20-1, 11-11) came right back against Cajuns' starter Brandon Young when Cam Pearcey homered down the left field line with two outs.  Young then walked two batters and hit two more and gave up a two run single to Zach Biermann to give the Chanticleers a 4-3 lead.

Brennan Breaux's two run single in the fifth put the Cajuns back on top, but a homer by Jake Wright in the bottom of the inning tied the score again.  The Cajuns took the lead for good one inning later as Orynn Veillon's RBI double scored Kasuls, and Lott then scored on a wild pitch to put the Cajuns up 7-5.  Coastal got within a run in the eighth, but the Cajuns put the game away in the ninth on RBI singles by Kasuls and Lott.

Matt Eardensohn allowed eight hits and five runs over 4.2 innings as the Chanticleers' starter.  Reliever Jay Causey (0-1) was saddled with the loss, giving up two hits and two runs with three walks in 2.1 innings.

The Cajuns will go for their first three game sweep of the season Sunday, with game time scheduled for 9:30 am.
