It shouldn't be much longer.

Louisiana athletic administrators are wrapping up the interview process and should be about to decide who will get an offer to become Louisiana's football coach, replacing Rickey Bustles, who was fired last week.

We know that Athletics Director David Walker and Sr. Associate Athletics Director Scott Farmer were on the road for three days last week conducting interviews.  It is believed that Mississippi State Assistant Mark Hudspeth and Georgia Tech Assistant Mike Sewak were interviewed, as well as one or two others that we don't know.  It was reported that Alabama assistant coach Burton Burns was going to interview, but ESPN1420 has been able to determine that interview did not take place.

According to sources close to the Oklahoma State athletics departent, OSU Assistant Joe DeForest interviewed by telephone.  And, Walker and Farmer are on the road today, presumably to interview McNeese State head coach Matt Viator.  It is not known if anyone else will be interviewed today.

Today will probably wrap up the interview process and Walker and Farmer will identify which coach they will present to UL President Dr. E. Joseph Savoie for his approval.

We expect that we'll know who the new Cajun head coach is by Monday.  It could be sooner.
